New Hajj Services to Facilitate Pilgrims

Even though there has been an immense amount of distress on Muslims due to the implementation of VAT in Saudi Arabia starting 2018 but one good news is that in order to serve the pilgrims, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman confirmed that the fees for Hajj and Umrah visas this year do not exceed $13.

He pointed out that it is essential to give opportunity to maximum number of Muslims to visit the Holy site and perform their pilgrimage. It is indeed a very thoughtful gesture because we all know that Hajj and Umrah are not affordable by everyone due to the amount it sums up into and decreasing the fee may play a huge role for many. Moreover, the Council of Economic Affairs and Development, chaired by Deputy Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, paid excessive attention to pilgrims in an effort to give them all the necessary facilities and provide them with the best services to perform the rituals of Hajj and Umrah with ease and facility.

As a result of this approach, the Vision of the 2030 program outlines three main objectives of the pilgrim’s service, which was announced in 10 programs approved by the Economic and Development Council to achieve the 2030 Vision. Excitingly, the program includes the following:

  • Improving the urban landscape in Saudi cities.
  • Developing the tourism sector.
  • Preserving and advertising the Islamic, Arab and national heritage of the Kingdom.
  • Inculcating modern technological tools such as; smart phone applications, dealing with digital maps and identifying websites related to Hajj and Umrah.

Introduction of such new facilities will undoubtedly bring ease to pilgrims and may make the journey more interesting.
